I didn't really sleep between Thursday afternoon and Saturday morning, I have no idea what timezone my system thinks it's in, and it looks like the rain may be coming back, so I'm struggling to work through a rather dense brain-fog atm...

So...end of week 9, and start of month 3 here. I re-issued my call for prompts, and I'll work on counting linkbacks sometime this week when I'm more alert. [personal profile] aldersprig has already posted another request, so I'll be working on that too :)

I thought I had other things to post, but I can't seem to recall any of them right now...should probably take the night to rest and rehydrate and try again tomorrow ^_^;

So, an offhand comment in an e-mail triggered [livejournal.com profile] ego_sideways's imagination, and it would seem that I've gone from making a slideshow to working on a short clip of actual animation 0.o Funny how all the stuff I read as a kid is suddenly becoming useful ^_^

signal boost:

[personal profile] aldersprig has released Tales for the Sugar Cat, a collection of short fiction, most of which was written during a live-writing fundraiser she held to help cover the cost of caring for her diabetic cat.

[personal profile] ysabetwordsmith will be doing a poetry fishbowl this Tuesday, with the theme "alternative sexuality and gender studies". I know this is a subject many of my friends feel very strongly about, so I hope some of you will drop by to contribute prompts!

I've been neglecting these status posts lately, but there really hasn't been much to report. My picture of dragons with trees is the only thing I managed to get done this week. This coming week should be a little better; I've got a picture of a Torn World snow-cat in the works, and I'll be finishing up The Storybook Tree to send to the VPL. I'm also still available for commissions, if you know anyone who needs art!

I submitted my sketch for Without Fail to the canon board at Torn World last night. I hope it will be approved in time to be posted along with the story for sea monster month.

Feeling a bit lightheaded today...might be the air pressure. It's sunny atm, but the forecast says back to rain for the next little while.

Many thanks to [personal profile] aldersprig, who sent me a tip to sponsor her request to give Rin a narrower nose. I took the opportunity to start modelling Rin's face a bit, too, and the detail view has been updated to show the change.

I'm going to take one more look at my Tin Man sketch before posting, but it will be up this evening.

We are quickly approaching the end of the first month of this project; I think it's been a rather promising start, and I will definitely be continuing it :) I'm happy that so many sketches have reached the first participation target within a few days of posting, and I hope to see some of them meet additional targets so I have the opportunity to work on them further and start to build a body of more finished work that can be developed into products.

To that end, I am looking for ways to both expand my audience and thank members of my existing audience for contributing. My ideas so far have been to provide higher resolution files for prompters and sponsors, to post details of cleaned-up sketches for every $x in tips, and to select a random sponsor to receive a free print when a sketch reaches any 'finished' stage. Am I on the right track? What specific things can I offer that would be appealing?

Sunday again...really? o.O

It's been kind of an uneven week for me. I'm feeling better after a night of sleep, but it's never pleasant to be reminded of just how unstable my system can be. I'm going to take advantage of the good weather to go for another walk today, and stop by one of the local produce shops along the way. Fresh air and healthy snacks FTW :)

Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate it! Even if you don't, I hope you're enjoying the chocolate!

I've had quite a busy week, and my sleep schedule has been shifting later again. My sleep cycle has always been naturally delayed, but I slept from sunrise to mid-afternoon yesterday, and although that's not the latest I've ever slept, it is a bit much, even for me. It doesn't pose as big a problem as it does in winter, when the sun sets really early, but it's still tiring, so I will be trying to move it back a little.

Today, I have one sketch prompt to work on, and then I'm not sure...maybe cleaning up SketchFest pics and/or working on advertising. Or I might just crawl under a blanket and read. ~Å~

I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who's contributed to making this project launch such a success :) Despite my ongoing struggles with fatigue, depression, and sickness, this has been the most productive week I've had in months, and it's all thanks to your enthusiasm and support! I've had a great time exploring all of the stories you've sent to far, and I'm looking forward to reading what you come up with next!

I'm still feeling sick today, and there are a few technical things I have to take care of, so there may not be a sketchy post tonight. If not, I'll try to make up for it and post both cleaned up sketches tomorrow. Thanks for your patience.

I will be doing a draw at around midnight, Pacific time (GMT-7), for a random commenter to receive a custom icon to use on LiveJournal, Dreamwidth, or wherever they like to post, so if you've been lurking, and you'd like to participate, there's still time!
