[livejournal.com profile] the_vulture requested a picture of his travel companion, Teddy visiting South Australia. Here's a picture of Teddy at Rundle Mall in Adelaide, consulting with Truffles the pig about local tourist spots.

That is just too cute. Is Truffles the pig a local mascot of some sort?

That's Teddy for you, winning hearts around the world! Who would have thought that a gift given by a dear friend in a time of crisis would come to bring smiles to so many people? :)

That. Is Adorable!

The bear is just exactly and perfectly a teddy bear.

Are the pigs statues? Living flying pigs?

Ooo! This is looking great! I'm glad you were able to preserve Teddy's fuzziness. :)

That map, btw, is awesome!

Hmmm... The use of crisp outlines on the foremost pig shows its metallic nature (they're cast metal statues). The outline of the furthest pig, though, is fuzzy enough to give it a skin like texture, making it look more like a live piggy. Perhaps, a crisp, if very thin, outline?

OMIGOSH! I forgot about the pig statues. Hee!

Wow, the light effects on Teddy really do give the impression of his fuzziness. I also like that, despite everything else going on in the image, attention is drawn to Teddy. :)

I know you're trying to leave the third pig unfocused, but you may wish to add a detail or two, as, at first, I read it as a wing coming out of the second pig (until I remembered there was three and one in the rear was nosing about in the rubbish bin).

It does look like a winged pig--something dear to my heart since I used to (and may again) make butterfly-winged pigs as juggling toys.

It almost looks like a squashed Tardis in the background there (but a suitable shape for Teddy to have been riding in).

Clearly I'm imagining a fantasy version of this scene! Is that a treasure map too?

On second consideration, it would make more sense just to sharpen some of the details on the second pig so the third doesn't look like part of it. It would also enhance the photographic 'field of focus' effect. :)

oh! That's a third pig, not a wing! I see it now! That makes more sense!!

I like the little meeting that's going on in the foreground. I've never been to Australia, nor even seen photos of Rundle Mall, so I didn't know they had pig statues there! Pretty amusing. :)

Good to see a plush out and about (it's reminding me of the photos that people sent in to Shaenon Garrity of the plush Artie from Narbonic in various places around the world).

He's looking into a rubbish bin, as you would see in many parks and other public spaces.

Update

Oooo! The details look so crisp. Adding the thin outline to the pigs really helps to get across that they're statues. The blank eyes on the middle pig also helps with that. Really nice!

I'm glad to see that you really put in effort into the details, including a good map of South Australia.

Going back to a question you asked me some time ago, yes, I think maybe a few people in the background might help, if they're well out of focus like the background is (vague people-like shapes).

Wow!
